Would you describe the taste as "soapy"?

That's something that many (myself included) have tasted.

I recently purchased a bottle of Cadenhead's Edradour 1976/1995 19 yr. I
was a bit puzzled at the bottling date (1995) but bought it based on
Edradour's usually decent reputation and the knowledge that Cadenhead's is
a reputable importer.

The bottle is undrinkable. The nose is similar to a typical highlands
malt, but the palate is a terrible (to my taste) overwhelming perfume
flavor somewhat similar to a deodorant odor in a rest room. Is this the
infamous FWP taste usually associated with Bowmore in years past, I
wonder? I have never tasted a malt with that character, and especially
when the nose does not accurately belie what lies within. I wonder if
others might have stumbled across this beast? Nothing turned up in my
search of the archives.

There were other 1995 bottlings there and I also purchased a Cadenhead's
Brora 1982/1995 13 yr. that was very pleasant.
