Shops in Copenhagen and Oslo?

As for Oslo, I'm afraid Norway has a state monopoly (Vinmonopolet) on the sale
of alchohol and this limits choice. However, due to the way the taxes and shop
profits are calculated it does mean that the more expensive items (such
as very
old whisky) will actually be relatively cheap.

For the best choice of whisky in Oslo, visit the Vinmonopol-shop at Briskeby
(Briskebyveien 48, 0259 OSLO) - it has become a "speciality" shop and has a
wider selection than the ordinary shops.

For breadth of choice, though, Copenhagen is a better bet.

Regards,
Ragnhild

PS: If you're looking for bars as well as shops we have listed a few at
www.nmwl.no, though we haven't quite translated that section yet so you will
need to find your way through the Norwegian version. Please get in
touch if you
need help.
