Let me first say that it was Davin's idea to have malts-L under a MM umbrella (credit where credit's due!).
I've just posted a question among the maniacs asking if anyone knows what's involved in getting malts-L actually up and running on the MM server. Seems to me that, unless anyone objects, we ought to look into this option seriously first, as I strongly think the link can and will benefit both malts-L and MM.

As an old-timer on the Malts list, I would be sad to see it disappear, but
accept that I have done nothing to keep things going in the last year or
so. I'm still tasting the occasional dram (slightly more than occasional
actually), but have been occupied with other matters as far as computer
time goes. I welcome Lex's idea of MM taking on the list, and like others
have said, I prefer my messages to come in via standard email rather than
having to plod away at a bulletin-board style presentation.
