Hi Astrid
It may very well be that Elodea species can survive and grow in salt water,
but that doesn't make them seaweeds. From a botanical point of view,
seaweeds are (large) algae. Elodea/waterweed is a plant. Algae are not
plants and aren't even closely related to plants. Waterweed is a seaweed
just as much as humans are mushrooms (which may actually not be too far off
the mark for some humans!). But joking apart, there is the strong suggestion
that a bottle of CELP contains a twig of seaweed (i.e. a large salt water
alga) when it doesn't.
But I guess I shouldn't be too surprised to see that marketing makes sure
facts do not get in the way of a good USP!

Hi Lex,
swedish scientists have found waterweed in the Swedish part of Baltic Sea
and seaweed in the Swedish part of Skagerak ("främmande arter i svenska
hav"). I'm chemist and not biologist but as far as I remember from swimming
there both seas are "saltwater"???
But when it comes to marketing by a professional advertiser "nearly
everything" is allowed - no matter the facts!!!
