Nicely phrased Peter, your Scots leid is nae bad ava - gin it's nae a
that at muckle odds wi the Yorkshire onywye - ye jist pronounce it
funny.

Ralph, I put your veggie recipe into practice, getting quantities
wrong and substituting dark lentils for about 2/3 of the ingredients,
but it came out all right. Evidently our wild haggis grew up in a field
in Turkey or someplace. The chosen dram, which we all partook of (a
small sip for our 8yo and even our 1yo took a taste off the end of a
finger, which she enjoyed all too much) was a Mannochmore 14yo Sherry
casked from Cadenheads, which was really heavily sherried and full of
raisins. Absolutely exquisite. I moved on to a 12yo Dalmore after that,
sticking with the Sherry. Still good, but a little lacking in depth
after the Cadenheads. Before I get accused of my usual 'Cadenheads can
do no wrong' mantra, I'll balance it a little with our Hogmanay dram
which was a bourbon Linkwood (I think 12yo) from them. Good enough
quality, and it went down well enough, but it was little lacking in
flavour that I usually find in a Linkwood, and had more of that grainy
sort of flavour that I usually associate with Glen Grant and the like.
Okay, but don't think I'd buy it again.

Ron
