  Red Bull is one of several distilleries owned by the 'ThaiBev', one of Thailands largest companies. Red Bull  produces the following whisky brands (AFAIK) 

   

  Crown 99 (Blended with scotch malts) 

  Blend 285 (Blended with scotch malts) 

  Blue (Blended with scotch malts) 

   

  The filler is a local distillate derived from distilling various kinds of grains, such as rice, glutinous rice,  maize. And, yes,  malt may also occur  in the mash bill. However, I am pretty sure that the filler does not contain 100% malt. The filler, in all three instances are matured on oak casks for a minimum period of two years. 

   

  I would describe the versions as 'blended' whiskies.. Not malt whiskies.   

   

  Let me also take the opportunity to erase a misunderstanding regarding  'Mehkong' and other related 'Thong' brands. They are NOT I repeat NOT  marketed by the brand owner ThaiBev as whiskies but as 'Thai Rums' !!!!!

    Got an e-mail from someone saying that the Red Bull / Thai Bev distillery in Thailand distils from 100% malted barley. Can anyone confirm or repute this?
