A friend of mine has recently been to Bhutan and brought back a bottle of 'Bhutan Highland', sold in Bhutan as "the king's favourite whisky". According to the label, it's a blend of Bhutanese-distilled grain whisky with Scottish malt.
We tasted this whisky together last night. The king's favourite??? Well, with all due respect to his royal Bhutanese highness, he ought to be exposed to a nice line-up of Scottish single malts, and then we'll have a hard time accurately timing how quickly he changes his mind .... 'Bhutan Highland' taste like weak cologne and I guess Scottish malt whisky is present in homeopathic quantities ....

P.E. Of course, I wasn't expecting a stunner, but you all know my weakness for trying whiskies from the most obscure corners of the planet!
