I heartily endorse Finlaggan - truly mystical place and Kildalton Cross and
the jetty at Bunnahabhain.

Three favorite spots of mine, not yet mentioned by others:
(1) Finlaggan (historical site off the main road to Port Askaig),
especially on a misty or drizzly day. A magical place that transcends time
and can hurl you back hundreds of years,
(2) The Glen Road (back road from Bridgend to Ballygrant, near Port Askaig)
on a sunny day: A lovely, pastoral and quiet part of Islay, with Islays
peaks all around, and the Paps of Jura visible in the background. A
beautiful and peaceful loop -- but beware the cattle if you are on foot or
cycling,
(3) The bakery near the wharf in Bowmore (a few doors down from the Islay
Gift Shop/C&E Roy): Delicious, unpretentious (working-class) food! The
meatpies and other pastries are "to die for" and very inexpensive. I
usually take one meal a day there when I am on Islay. Yum! : )
Hope these are helpful. Makes me wish I was there right now!
Slainte!
Dave

Have the picnic on the rocks between the Ardbeg warehouse and the sea. It's
a lovely place to sip a dram and Ardbeg does go very nicely with oysters.

Hi Craig,
Thanks for the suggestion but I already know that spot well! Beautiful
indeed.

Never got around to uploading them all.
