Dear All,

 Please excuse the general nature of this e-mail. However, the subject
matter is of vital importance to all lovers of malt whisky.

 Harpers, the UK wine and Spirits Publication is running an opinion poll
about the idea that the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA) has put forward
to the UK government for a category called "Blended Malt " whisky.

 Go to   www.harpers.co.uk <http://www.harpers.co.uk/>  to vote and see
the details of the survey.  

 I think think the "Blended Malt" category is not only silly it is also
confusing and, apart from the big five companies that basically run the
SWA, I have not been able to find one person in favour of this idea!

 I have voted NO in the survey and would recommend that you go to the
link below and cast your own vote.  It is obviously up to you how you
vote but it is my opinion that all votes should be counted. You can be
certain that the big five in the SWA will be making sure that the yes
vote is as heavy as possible so every vote, including yours, is of vital
importance.

 Please pass this e-mail on to as many of you contacts as possible that
you think will be interested in casting a vote in this survey.
