Hi Richard
Please do disturb! Been way too quiet of late ....
I got a bottle of Yamazaki 12 y.o. quite a while ago. Haven't tasted it
recently, so my impressions may not be valid for current bottles.
To me, Yamazaki 12 has some fruitiness, some dryness, some malt, bit of
everything. A decent malt, but, for me, not more than that. And compared
to some of the older single cask bottlings of Yamazaki (which can be
stunning), it doesn't do real justice to what the distillery can do.
But a decent entry into the world of Japanese malts.
Cheers, Lex

Subject: [MM-MALTS-L] Japanese Single Malt
As a novice I try no to disturb the group but as it's been quiet on the
list I'll chance sending an inquiry to the group.
I picked up a bottle of Japanese Single Malt - A 12 Y.O. Yamazaki in the
Bangkok airport while in my travels.
I haven't opened yet. Nor is there much written about in my reference
books (Michael Jackson & Jum Murray)
Has anyone tried it? If so, will you share your tasting notes and
opinion of it?
Thanks,
Richard
