Restaurants and even individuals can order directly from Premium Bottlers or
any other distillery, winery, etc. that has an LCBO relationship (usually an
import agent). You may either pick up your cases (yes, the minimum order is
at least one case, sometimes much more!) from the docks in Toronto
(literally from the loading docks, so funny to see my convertible Mini
backed up next to restaurant delivery vans/lorries) or for more money and an
even longer wait you can have it delivered to the LCBO store of your choice
(the wait is generally 2-6 months though for Premium bottlers it is only a
few weeks since they're local and store delivery can add another 2-6
weeks). Rough life out in the colonies I always say!

When I order, I order a few cases so they last me. This goes completely
against many single malt scotch drinker's philosophy of only buying one
bottle so you can try everything but the selection here is extremely limited
and getting worse all the time. If I must buy at least one case, I really
need to buy several as the shipping cost for one case is the same as for ten
cases! They need not all be the same but generally to be in the same order
they need to be from the same supplier in the UK so from Glenmorangie you
can also get Ardbeg and from IBs you can get a bunch of different cases.
Expensive, almost cheaper to fly to the UK (really).
