Signed and wrote to them (copy below). Fingers crossed the protest has
an effect - I just hope it isn't part of a cynical advertising campaign.

Dear Sir/Madam

I wish to add my voice to the thousands of loyal JW drinkers worldwide
who are crying out for Diageo to reconsider their plan to close the
Kilmarnock works. Whisky, and in particular JW whisky, is not just
another brandname. The following it has worldwide is not only because of
its taste, flavour etc, but also because of its cultural importance,
history and connections with the important events in our lives. The
water of life flows through us and connects us with friends and family
worldwide, but has its headwaters in Scotland. Johnnie Walker's home is
in Kilmarnock and to break that tradition may have disasterous results
for that town and community, but also ultimately for JW whisky sales.
History, culture and community is important to JW drinkers ... , but of
course you know this: I refer you to your own recent (brilliant!) advert
starring Robert Carlyle
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7lnnZiORpk

Somewhere in Diageo, someone agrees with me how important these things
are to JW whisky drinkers.

Slainte
Ron
